Margaret Lehto, AIA, ALA, LEED AP

Vice President, Director of Design

During her 20+ year career with our firm, Margaret has led hundreds of multi-disciplinary projects, from higher education and municipal facilities to residential housing complexes.

As a licensed architect with LEED Accreditation, Margaret is experienced in all facets of architectural projects including program and project management, space planning and interior design, design-build renovations, and construction administration. She incorporates sustainability into all projects to provide environmentally conscious design while meeting all operational, scheduling and budgetary requirements for each project.

Earlier in her career, Margaret oversaw the on-site design coordination for a $200 million, two-year construction project of four 747 aircraft hangers for Malaysian Airlines at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang, Malaysia.

Margaret earned an M.A. in Architecture at the University of Illinois Chicago. She also completed graduate studies in the Architecture program at the École des Beaux-Arts in Versailles, France. She received a B.A. in Art History at Northwestern University.

Margaret credits her father, a civil engineer and bridge builder, with inspiring her to pursue a career in architecture. A lifelong musician, she enjoys spending her free time playing guitar and writing folk songs.

One reason I’ve stayed more than two decades at Globetrotters is the variety of projects I get to work on for many different clients. It’s not just architecture, but also property management, project management, design-build renovations. Every day is something different.
