Chicago Southland Fiber Optic Network

Globetrotters provided Design/ Build services to construct over 30 miles of fiber optic infrastructure in the Southern Cook and Eastern Will County corridor connecting 32 initial anchor sites including south suburban municipalities, public safety sites, hospitals, and colleges.

Globetrotters provided planning, design, permitting, construction, splicing, termination, testing, and support services for the installation of a single mode fiber optic backbone network. This network design provides broadband connectivity to individual municipal and private users. The Inside Plant (ISP) work is also included in this project. The Outside Plant (OSP) design uses field collected GPS information.

Upon completion, Globetrotters turned over an advanced single mode fiber network capable of 100 Gig DWDM transport through 17 municipalities that can be tracked by as-built GIS data through an ESRI platform or Google Earth.
