Cook County, in conjunction with the Illinois Century Network, City of Chicago, and the Chicago Transit Authority, is pursuing a phased approach of creating a state-of-the-art fiber network that ties together major County anchor institutions. Globetrotters provided route design, permitting, drawings and specifications for construction packages for both ISP and OSP work as well as construction management.
Globetrotters completed the design for the creation of a single mode fiber optic ring between the County offices in downtown Chicago and John Stroger, Jr. Hospital. Globetrotters also designed the extension of the ring to the Cook County Courthouse and Corrections Facility Campus at 26th & California, Cermak Hospital at 2700 South California, and the CTA Pink Line at 21st and California.
The network was extended to Provident Hospital, Oak Forest Hospital, Markham Court House, and Maywood, IL Criminal Court Complex.
