I-90 Bridge Deck Reconstruction over the Des Plaines River

The project consisted of the complete deck reconstruction of I-90 over Des Plaines River Bridge. Work included deck removal, construction of new beam seats on piers and abutments, driving piles for new approach pile bents, repainting of I-190 WB Flyover Bridge, joint repair at I-90 over River Road Bridge, initial pavement and grading for the IDOT Cumberland Flyover and replacement of roadway lighting. Additional work included replacement of roadway cameras and fiber optic installation.

This $9.2 million project was recognized with a Merit Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Illinois for their 2017 Engineering Excellence Awards.
