Globetrotters performed services for a turnkey, design, build and implementation project which provided a Cisco 10 Gigabit Optical network over 20 miles of single-mode fiber optic backbone and laterals linking McHenry County College with McHenry County Courthouse/Administration Center, and additional 1 Gigabit scalable links to the City of Woodstock, Woodstock School District, and Woodstock Fire and Police Departments. Globetrotters was honored for this project an American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois Merit Award.
The project consisted of designing and installing a 288- and 144-count backbone fiber and associated laterals connecting 23 facilities to the McHenry County College’s main internet connection. Globetrotters acted as the Design-Build contractor for all aspects of this project. Globetrotters provided field inspection and support as well as testing documentation and implementation of the entire system.
