Globetrotters provided architectural and engineering design and construction administration services for a new 14,000 community center in Richton Park, Illinois. The new ADA compliant facility is connected to the existing Village Administration Building and houses a multi-purpose gymnasium, multi-purpose meeting rooms, classrooms, staff offices, a lounge, kitchen, equipment storage space, mechanical rooms and other support spaces.
The design process included extensive collaborate input from a committee of stakeholders to ensure that the needs and desires of the entire community were integrated into the design. The scope of work included MEP/FP, security, landscaping and civil engineering services addressing all site work, storm water management, utility coordination and site amenities.
Globetrotters’ LEED™ AP design professionals incorporated sustainable design into this new facility, such as the exterior AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) wall, the athletic flooring, and lighting controls, not only to be environmentally responsible but also to reduce operating costs for the client.
